Esther schloss 2005 ihr Studium der Veterinärmedizin an der Justus-Liebig-Universität (JLU) Gießen ab. Anschließend absolvierte sie ein rotierendes Internship an der Kleintierklinik der Universität, dabei wurde ihr Interesse an Notfall- und Intensivmedizin geweckt. Nach dem Internship war sie als Assistenztierärztin an der Kleintierklinik der JLU Gießen tätig und promovierte 2011 in der Kleintierkardiologie. 2008 startete sie eine alternate track Residency in Emergency and Critical Care in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kleintierklinik der Vetsuisse-Fakultät der Universität Bern. Sie wurde 2012 vom American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care und 2016 vom European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care zertifiziert. Seit 2012 ist sie als Oberärztin auf der Intensivstation der Kleintierklinik der JLU Gießen tätig.

Esther completed her veterinary studies in 2005 at the Justus Liebig University (JLU) in Giessen. She then completed a rotating internship at the university’s small animal clinic, during which her interest in emergency and critical care medicine was sparked. After the internship, she worked as an assistant veterinarian at the JLU Giessen small animal clinic and earned her doctorate in small animal cardiology in 2011.

In 2008, she began an alternate track residency in Emergency and Critical Care in collaboration with the Small Animal Clinic of the Vetsuisse Faculty at the University of Bern. She was board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2012 and by the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2016. Since 2012, she has been working as a senior clinician in the intensive care unit at the JLU Giessen small animal clinic.

Sabrina hat ihr Tiermedizinstudium 2010 an der Vetsuisse-Fakultät der Universität Zürich in der Schweiz abgeschlossen. Danach verbrachte sie ein Jahr an der Cornell Universität, um ihre Doktorarbeit anzufertigen, absolvierte ein rotierendes Internship für Kleintiere und anschliessend eine Ausbildung in Kleintier Notfall- und Intensivmedizin an der University of California, Davis. Sie wurde 2017 vom American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care und 2019 vom European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care zertifiziert.

Nach fünf Jahren als Oberassistentin an der Universität Bern in der Schweiz und als Assistenzprofessorin an der Washington State University kehrte sie kürzlich als Assistenzprofessorin für klinische Veterinärsimulation und Notfall- und Intensivmedizin an die University of California, Davis zurück. Sabrina graduated from the University of Zurich Vetsuisse Faculty, Switzerland. She then spent a year at Cornell University to obtain her Dr. med. vet. degree, completed a small animal rotating internship, and underwent small animal Emergency and Critical Care training at the University of California, Davis. She became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2017 and the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2019.

After five years as on faculty at the University of Bern, Switzerland and Washington State University, she recently returned to the University of California, Davis as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Veterinary Simulation and Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. Her professional interests include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, simulation-based research, and simulation-based teaching.

Dr. Julia Ortlieb schloss 2017 ihr Studium der Veterinärmedizin an der Justus-Liebig-Universität (JLU) Gießen ab. Anschließend absolvierte sie ein rotierendes Internship an der Kleintierklinik der Universität, in dem sie umfassende Erfahrungen in verschiedenen Bereichen der Veterinärmedizin sammelte. Nach dem Internship war sie als Assistenztierärztin an der Kleintierklinik der JLU Gießen tätig, mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Notfall- und Intensivmedizin. Zudem arbeitete sie in den Bereichen Innere Medizin und Anästhesie und war zusätzlich im Notdienst einer privaten Praxis aktiv.

2023 promovierte sie mit einer Dissertation zum Thema „Einsatz der High-Flow-Sauerstofftherapie bei Bronchoskopien bei Hunden“. Von 2022 bis 2025 absolvierte sie ein Residency-Programm des European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC) an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen. Seit 2019 ist sie als RECOVER-zertifizierte Instruktorin tätig und engagiert sich intensiv in der Lehre, insbesondere im Bereich CPR und simulationsbasiertes Training für Veterinärstudierende an der JLU.

Dr. Julia Ortlieb graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen, Germany, in 2017. She then completed a rotating internship at the university’s small animal clinic, gaining experience in various fields of veterinary medicine. Following her internship, she worked as an assistant veterinarian at the Small Animal Clinic of JLU Giessen, focusing on emergency and critical care medicine. She also worked in the areas of internal medicine and anesthesia and was additionally involved in the emergency service of a private practice.

In 2023, she earned her doctorate with a dissertation on the use of high-flow oxygen therapy during bronchoscopies in dogs. Since 2022, she has been undertaking a residency program with the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC) at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, which is set to be completed in 2025. Since 2019, she has been a RECOVER-certified instructor and is also actively involved in teaching CPR and simulation-based training for veterinary students at the university.

Kathrin schloss ihr Studium der Veterinärmedizin an der Veterinärmedizinischen Universität Wien im Jahr 2015 ab. Nach einigen Jahren in der allgemeinen Praxis kehrte sie 2018 an die Universität zurück, um ein einjähriges Rotating Internship für Kleintiere zu absolvieren, das ihr Interesse an der Notfall- und Intensivmedizin (ECC) weckte. Aufbauend auf dieser Erfahrung blieb sie für ein Fellowship auf der Intensivstation (ICU), bevor sie 2021 nach Deutschland zog, um eine alternate track Residency im Bereich ECC an der Tierärztlichen Hochschule Hannover in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Royal Veterinary College in London zu beginnen, die sie 2025 abschließen wird. In Hannover spielte sie eine entscheidende Rolle beim Aufbau einer Intensivstation, die im Laufe der Jahre erheblich gewachsen ist. Im Rahmen dieser Entwicklung half Kathrin 2024 bei der Etablierung der Hämodialyse und erweiterte so das Spektrum der verfügbaren intensivmedizinischen Behandlungen an ihrem Standort.

Neben ihrer klinischen Tätigkeit engagiert sie sich aktiv in der Ausbildung von Interns und Studenten in der Notfallmedizin. Kathrins Interessensgebiete umfassen post-cardiac arrest care, akutes Nierenversagen und point-of-care ultrasound.

Kathrin graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in 2015. After a few years of working in general practice, she returned to the University in 2018 to complete a one-year small animal rotating internship, which sparked her interest in emergency and critical care (ECC). Building on this experience, she stayed on for a fellowship in the intensive care unit (ICU) before relocating to Germany in 2021, to start an alternate track residency in ECC at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover in partnership with the Royal Veterinary College in London, which she is set to complete in 2025. In Hannover, she played a key role in setting up an ICU, which has grown significantly over the years. As part of this development, Kathrin also helped introduce renal replacement therapies in 2024, further expanding the range of critical care options available.

In addition to her clinical work, she actively contributes to the training of interns and students in emergency medicine. Kathrin’s areas of interest include post-cardiac arrest care, acute kidney injury and point-of-care ultrasound.

Outside of her professional life, Kathrin enjoys spending time outdoors with her partner and their dogs. Growing up in Austria’s beautiful landscapes she developed a love for hiking and mountaineering—activities that continue to inspire and balance her life.

Clara si laurea all’università Alma Mater di Bologna nel 2016. Rimane a far parte del team di medicina d’urgenza dell’università per alcuni anni e, dopo un breve periodo di lavoro in ospedali privati italiani, nel 2020 si trasferisce nel Regno Unito per realizzare il suo sogno di diventare una diplomata ECC. Nel 2022 Clara inizia il suo percorso di residency presso il Royal Veterinary College di Londra.

Clara graduated from the University of Bologna in 2016. After spending a few years in the university Critical Care team and a short period in Italian private hospitals, in 2020 she moved to the UK to pursue her dream to become an ECC specialist. In 2022 Clara started her ECC residency at the Royal Veterinary College.

In her time off, Clara likes travelling around the world, cooking (but also eating!) and gardening.

Dopo aver conseguito la laurea in Medicina Veterinaria presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano, lavora a Milano per due anni come veterinario notturno prima di trasferirsi nel Regno Unito. Inizialmente, lavora in varie cliniche nell’area di Londra come veterinario notturno e completa un PgCert in Emergenza e Terapia Intensiva per animali di piccola taglia conseguito nel 2021.

Dopo cinque anni di esperienza completa due tirocini in Emergenza e Terapia Intensiva, prima di ottenere la residency in Emergenza e Terapia Intensiva al Royal Veterinary College. Durante i tirocini, pubblica un case report dal titolo ” Short-term severe polyuria responsive to vasopressin after hypoglycaemia and hypotension in a domestic shorthair cat ” e sviluppa un interesse per traumatologia, sepsi e per il trattamento dell’ enterite da parvovirus.

I graduated from the University of Milan in 2014 and worked in Milan for 2 years as a night vet before moving to the UK. Initially, I worked in multiple practices across the London area as a night vet and I achieved a PgCert in Small animal Emergency and Critical Care which I achieved in 2021.

After 5 years in practice, I decided to pursue a residency in Emergency and Critical Care, therefore I completed two Emergency and Critical Care Internships before achieving an Emergency and Critical Care residency at the Royal Veterinary College. During my internships I published a case report titled “Short-term severe polyuria responsive to vasopressin after hypoglycaemia and hypotension in a domestic shorthair cat” and developed an interest in traumatic brain injury, treatment of parvoviral enteritis and sepsis.

After graduating from the University of Pisa in 2014, Tommaso worked in the field of Anesthesia and Critical Care through internships at the University of Helsinki and the University College Dublin. His interests encompass coagulation disorders, mechanical ventilation, electrolyte disturbances, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

Dopo il conseguimento del diploma, ha maturato una significativa esperienza lavorativa presso diverse cliniche veterinarie e centri di riferimento. Nel corso della sua carriera, ha avuto l’opportunità di collaborare con team multidisciplinari, affrontando situazioni cliniche complesse e sviluppando competenze avanzate nella cura e gestione dei pazienti. Da febbraio 2023, Anna è tornata in Italia, dove ha iniziato a lavorare presso l’Anicura Ospedale Veterinario I Portoni Rossi. In questa struttura, si occupa principalmente della degenza dei pazienti, offrendo anche supporto nei reparti di Pronto Soccorso e Terapia Intensiva (ECC), e chirurgia. Anna Ruggiero is a Veterinary Nurse who graduated from Solihull College & University (UK) in 2022. During her education, she gained invaluable experience in both General Practice and at Willows, one of the world’s leading Specialist Referral Centre. She has developed a wide range of multidisciplinary nursing skills and faced numerous challenges, fostering strong connections with her patients. Following her education, Anna returned to Italy where she joined Anicura Ospedale Veterinario I Portoni Rossi, working across Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) and general wards, where she dedicates her passion to the care of various patients across a range of specialists including neurology, internal medicine and surgery.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she actively participates in webinars, sharing her expertise as both a relator and moderator, and engaging with the broader veterinary community.

Dr. Hyun-jung Han (DVM, PhD) is a professor in the Department of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, college of Veterinary Medicine at Konkuk University,Seoul, South Korea. She leads the veterinary emergency and critical care services at Konkuk University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and serves as the director of the KU I’m DOgNOR Blood Donation Center, promoting ethical blood donation practices and ensuring a stable blood supply for companion animals in Korea. She also holds the position of Vice President of the Korean Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (KVECCS).

Dr. Han’s primary research interests lie in veterinary transfusion medicine, and she is currently working on a patent related to the production of freeze-dried blood components. She received her B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Konkuk University, and completed the postdoctoral course in the department of soft tissue surgery, in College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Missouri.

Dr. Jiwoong Her is an associate professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care, Nephrology and Extracorporeal Services at North Carolina State University. He earned his DVM from Chungnam National University, South Korea, in 2012 and completed evaluated clinical experience at Louisiana State University in 2016. After an ECC internship at Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center, Dr. Her completed a master’s degree and residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at Auburn University in 2020. From 2020 to 2024, he served as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at The Ohio State University. During his faculty appointment at the Ohio State University, he completed a fellowship in Extracorporeal Therapies and Hemodialysis Academy. He is currently a member of the inaugural class of the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology.

He oversees the hospital’s emergency and critical care services and serves as the Vice President of the Korean Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (KVECCS).
Dr. Jun is also pursuing an Integrated Master’s and PhD Program in Clinical Veterinary Medicine, specializing in Emergency Medicine, at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Seoul National University. His key research interests include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), mechanical ventilation, tracheal stenting, and heartworm removal interventions.

Dr. Jun is dedicated to advancing the field of veterinary emergency medicine through innovative clinical practices and research, contributing significantly to improving outcomes for critically ill animals.

김민수 교수는 2002년 경북대학교 수의과대학를 졸업하고 수의사가 되었으며, 2006년에 서울대학교 수의과대학에서 수의외과학 전공으로 박사학위를 받았습니다. 그 이후에 2008년까지 플로리다 수의과대학에서 임상수의사로 근무를 하였고, 2008년 4월부터 전북대학교 수의과대학 수의외과학 교수로 10년 동안 재직하였습니다. 이 후 2018년부터 서울대학교 수의과대학 수의응급중환자의학 교수로 일 하고 있습니다. 또한 그는 현재 한국수의응급중환자의학회 (KVECCS) 회장직을 맡고 있습니다.

Professor Min Su Kim commenced his professional career in veterinary medicine upon graduating from Kyungpook National University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He further advanced his academic and clinical expertise by completing a Doctorate in Veterinary Surgery at Seoul National University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He subsequently completed an internship at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.

Upon returning to South Korea, Dr. Kim began his academic career as a Professor of Veterinary Surgery at Jeonbuk National University. In 2018, he joined Seoul National University, where he currently holds the position of Professor of Veterinary Emergency Medicine. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Kim serves as the President of the Korean Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (KVECCS).

Dr. Kavitha Jayaseelan adalah seorang Pegawai Veterinar Kanan di Zoo Negara Malaysia. Beliau telah berkhidmat di Zoo Negara sejak tahun 2013. Kavitha Jayaseelan is the Senior Veterinarian in Zoo Negara Malaysia. She has been with the Zoo since 2013. She graduated with a DVM from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is very passionate about improving the welfare of captive wild animals. Over the years, she has conducted various talks and workshops both for the local wildlife veterinarians and also zoo keepers.

Dr. Nor-Alimah Rahman kini bertugas sebagai Pengurus, Operasi dan Teknikal, Hospital Veterinar Universiti (UVH), Fakulti Perubatan Veterinar, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Dr. Nor telah berkecimpung dalam amalan perubatan dan surgeri haiwan kesayangan di UPM sejak tahun 2002. Beliau merupakan Ketua Pegawai Veterinar di Peringkat Universiti yang melibatkan pelbagai staf profesional dan para profesional di empat fakulti yang lain dengan pelbagai pengkhususan. Beliau juga terlibat dalam penghasilan penulisan buku dan kertas ilmiah, pembentangan kertas dan pameran di pelbagai konferensi kebangsaan dan antarabangsa.

Pada awal perkhidmatan, Dr Nor terlibat aktif dalam rawatan rehabilitasi haiwan kesayangan dan eksotik. Seterusnya, beliau menumpukan pengalaman selama >20 tahun dalam mengendalikan kes kecemasan dan kritikal untuk haiwan kesayangan. Beliau terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran dan sesi klinikal di unit kecemasan dan ICU yang melibatkan latihan pelajar DVM dan staf UVH. Dr Nor telah memulakan sesi latihan CPR untuk haiwan kesayangan di UVH sejak tahun 2010 dan seterusnya menerapkan latihan berkala berdasarkan cadangan RECOVER sejak 2013 yang terbuka kepada staf pelbagai peringkat. Beliau juga memberi latihan CPR kepada pengendali haiwan daripada unit K-9 daripada badan kerajaan seperti Polis DiRaja Malaysia, Kastam diRaja Malaysia dan Jabatan Bomba Malaysia.

Selain daripada tugasan profesional, Dr Nor bergiat aktif dalam aktiviti komuniti setempat dan badan NGO kebangsaan. Beliau juga pernah menjadi petugas pemerhati antarabangsa bagi Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu (UN) di Afghanistan, dan menjadi pasukan penyelamat pada bencana banjir di sekitar Semenanjung Malaysia. Pengalaman bergaul dengan pelbagai jenis masyarakat di dalam dan di luar negara memberi perspektif kehidupan yang lebih luas kepada beliau dalam menghargai setiap kehidupan.

Dr. Nor-Alimah Rahman is currently serving as the Manager of Operations and Technical Affairs at the University Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Dr. Nor has been actively involved in companion animal medicine and surgery at UPM since 2002. She is the Chief Veterinary Officer at the university level, overseeing various professional and para-professional staff across four different faculties with diverse specializations. She is also involved in writing books and scholarly papers, presenting research, and participating in exhibitions at various national and international conferences.

At the beginning of her career, Dr. Nor was actively engaged in rehabilitation treatment for companion and exotic animals. Over the years, she has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in handling emergency and critical care cases for companion animals. She plays an active role in teaching and clinical sessions at the emergency and ICU units, which include training for DVM students and UVH staff. Dr. Nor initiated CPR training sessions for companion animals at UVH in 2010 and, since 2013, has implemented regular training based on RECOVER guidelines, open to staff at various levels. She has also conducted CPR training for animal handlers from K-9 units of government agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police, Royal Malaysian Customs, and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Dr. Nor is actively involved in local community activities and national NGOs. She has also served as an international observer for the United Nations (UN) in Afghanistan and was part of rescue teams during flood disasters across Peninsular Malaysia. Her experiences interacting with diverse communities both locally and internationally have given her a broader perspective on life and a deep appreciation for all living beings.

Dr. Yiew Xiu Ting adalah seorang ahli pakar Kecemasan & Penjagaan Kritikal Veterinar dari American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care serta pensyarah dalam Jabatan Pengajian Klinikal di Ontario Veterinary College, Universiti of Guelph, Kanada. Beliau memperolehi ijazah DVM daripada Fakulti Perubatan Veterinar, Universiti Putra Malaysia, pada tahun 2013 dan bertugas di Hospital Veterinar Universiti selama 2.5 tahun sebelum melanjutkan pengajian pasca siswazah kedoktoran dan program residensi selama 3 tahun dalam bidang kecemasan & penjagaan kritikal di Ontario Veterinary College.

Dr. Yiew tertarik dengan bidang kecemasan & penjagaan kritikal kerana kepelbagaian kes klinikal yang memerlukan tindakan pantas dan dinamik, prosedur kecemasan menyelamatkan nyawa, serta pemantauan kritikal. Di luar amalan klinikal, beliau bersemangat untuk mengajar dan menyumbang dalam Pendidikan Berterusan, dengan usaha mengintegrasikan amalan berasaskan bukti ke dalam bidang kecemasan and penjagaan kritikal serta memberi inspirasi kepada generasi profesional veterinar yang akan datang. Bidang kepakaran klinikal dan penyelidikan beliau termasuk pengamalan terapi cecair, ultrasonografi sisi katil, pemantauan invasif minimum sisi katil, kecederaan buah pinggang dan terapi pembersihan darah luar badan.

Dr. Yiew berkhidmat sebagai Penilai Bukti RECOVER 2.0 bagi menjana Garis Panduan RECOVER 2024 dan merupakan ahli pakar panel untuk Pernyataan Konsensus Ultrasonografi Sisi Katil Veterinar yang dibangunkan oleh VECCUS Interest Group. Sebagai pensyarah sejak tahun 2020, Dr. Yiew mengajar RECOVER CPR kepada pelajar DVM, pegawai veterinar, dan juruteknik veterinar melalui kuliah didaktik serta simulasi makmal. Beliau telah mencapai Pensijilan Penyelamat BLS & ALS RECOVER® dan akan mencapai Pensijilan Pengajar RECOVER® bagi menjalani bengkel Penyelamat dalam masa terdekat.

Dr. Xiu Ting Yiew is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Studies at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada. She earned her DVM degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 2013 and worked at the affiliated University Veterinary Hospital for 2.5 years before completing a 3-year residency and doctoral graduate program in Emergency & Critical Care at the Ontario Veterinary College.

Dr. Yiew is drawn to the dynamic, fast-paced nature of Emergency & Critical Care, thriving on the adrenaline rush, the diversity of clinical cases, life-saving emergency procedures, and critical monitoring. Beyond clinical practice, she is passionate about teaching and Continuing Education, with a strong focus on integrating evidence-based practices into Emergency & Critical Care and inspiring the next generation of veterinary professionals. Her clinical and research interests include fluid stewardship, point-of-care ultrasonography, minimally invasive bedside monitoring, acute kidney injury, and extracorporeal therapies.

Dr. Yiew served as a RECOVER 2.0 Evidence Evaluator for the 2024 RECOVER Guidelines and is an expert panelist for the Consensus Statement on Veterinary POCUS developed by the VECCUS Interest Group. Since joining the faculty in 2020, Dr. Yiew has been teaching RECOVER CPR to DVM students, house officers, and veterinary technicians through didactic lectures and laboratory simulations. She is also a RECOVER Certified BLS & ALS Rescuer® and intends to become a RECOVER Certified Instructor® to teach Rescuer workshops in the near future.

Melissa Chiang graduated with a DVM from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2013 and has since been a full time small animal veterinarian. Besides finding joy in seeing her patients recover , she also enjoys yoga, strength and suspension training and loves hunting for food during her free time.

Emily graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 2016, and went on to complete a rotating internship at the University of Sydney, where she developed a deep passion for emergency medicine. Emily then returned to Melbourne, working as an emergency veterinarian and clinical tutor at the University of Melbourne, before pursuing an ECC residency program with the University of Sydney and Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH). In 2024, she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

Emily is currently working in private practice in Australia. Her professional interests include electrolyte derangements, respiratory diseases, endocrine emergencies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. She also brings strong communication skills to her practice, including fluency in Chinese (Mandarin), which allows her to effectively engage with a diverse range of clients. Emily contributed as a proofreader for the Simplified Chinese translations of the 2024 RECOVER CPR Guidelines and associated resources.

Dr. Meng Li earned her Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from South China Agricultural University before obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from the University of Minnesota. She then completed a rotating internship at Auburn University. Currently, Dr. Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Nanjing Agricultural University. Her research focuses on comparative oncology, as well as veterinary anesthesia and analgesia.

Dr. Ta Ying Debra Liu is a Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. She obtained the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, and continued her training by completing a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Liu then practiced emergency medicine at the prestigious Dove Lewis Emergency and Critical Care Animal Hospital in Portland, Oregon and at a progressive general practice in California for several years prior to her pursuing specialization. Dr. Liu completed a Residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2012.  To date, she continues to practice in emergency and critical care and provides consultation service for veterinary hospitals. 

Dr. Liu has authored multiple manuscripts and textbook chapters on acute respiratory distress syndrome, fluid therapy, nutrition in septic peritonitis, feline spontaneous pneumothorax, and toxicities. She contributed and translated the first RECOVER CPR guideline to traditional Mandarin.  She is skilled in hemodynamic stabilization and mechanical ventilation for the sickest animals. Sepsis, polytrauma, respiratory failure, and electrolyte and acid-base disorders are her clinical expertise.

謝明瑞獸醫師擁有國立中興大學獸醫學學士與碩士學位，專長為小動物內科醫學。取得學位後於國立臺灣大學獸醫教學醫院進行三年的內科住院獸醫師訓練，以及擔任一年內科總獸醫師，主要負責內科診療。於私人獸醫診所工作數年後，目前為米花動物醫院的共同創辦人暨內科主治獸醫師。謝獸醫師曾參與多本獸醫專業書籍的翻譯與審閱，協助以中文為母語的獸醫師獲取最新的專業知識。

I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from National Chung Hsing University, with a focus on small animal internal medicine. My training included a three-year residency and one year as Chief Resident in internal medicine at the National Taiwan University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Following several years of practice at a private veterinary clinic, I founded MIHUA Animal Hospital, where I specialize in internal medicine.

I have contributed to the translation and review of numerous veterinary professional books, facilitating access to the latest knowledge for Mandarin-speaking veterinarians.

洪琬筑獸醫師於國立臺灣大學取得獸醫學士學位並完成小動物學士後實習獸醫師訓練。

洪醫師在臺灣擔任小動物獸醫師數年之後，前往美國Purdue University獲得碩士學位，並在加拿大University of Saskatchewan與美國Auburn University完成了北美小動物實習獸醫師訓練以及小動物急診與重症醫學專科住院醫師訓練。洪醫師於2023年通過美國獸醫急診與重症醫學學院的專科認證，目前於美國佛羅里達大學小動物急診與重症醫學部門擔任臨床助理教授。

Dr. Wan-Chu Hung received her DVM degree from National Taiwan University in 2014. She completed a small animal internship at the National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital the following year. Afterward, she worked as a small animal veterinarian in Taiwan for a few years before heading to the United Stated to pursue specialty training. In 2019, she earned a Master’s degree from Purdue University. She completed a small animal rotating internship at University of Saskatchewan, Canada in the following year.

Dr. Hung further advanced her expertise by completing a residency in small animal Emergency and Critical Care at Auburn University. In 2023, she achieved board certification from the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Dr. Hung is now a Clinical Assistant Professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Florida.

Dr. PenTing Liao is a double-boarded veterinary specialist in Anesthesia & Analgesia (DACVAA) and Emergency & Critical Care (DACVECC). He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVM) from National Taiwan University in 2011. Dr. Liao completed a residency in Anesthesia and Analgesia at the Ontario Veterinary College, followed by a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has held faculty positions in anesthesiology and critical care for several years before joining his current role in private practice. His clinical and research interests focus on hemodynamic management.

I graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Mercy University in 2014 and obtained license as a veterinary technician. After graduation, I worked for several years in the Emergency and Critical Care Department of a private specialty veterinary hospital, during which she earned her Veterinary Technician Specialty certification in Emergency and Critical Care. I am currently employed at another emergency veterinary hospital, serving as a Nursing Trainer. In this role, I lead veterinary technicians and assistants to improve their clinical skills, provide on-the-job training focused on emergency and critical care, and assist team members with career development planning. My work ensures that the nursing staff can meet diverse medical needs while enhancing the overall professional competence of the veterinary medical team.

I am Secretary General of Society of Taiwan Animal Therapeutic Education, hold a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from National Chung Hsing University. I am the Executive Director of the Society of Taiwan Animal Therapeutic Education (STATE). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from National Chung Hsing University, specializing in companion animal and wildlife pathology. I completed my Master’s degree in Comparative Veterinary Pathology at National Taiwan University, where I also finished a 3-year residency in pathology at the National Taiwan University Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

My passion lies in advancing veterinary education and improving animal health care standards. Currently, I am dedicated to designing impactful lectures and workshops for veterinarians, vet nurses, and wildlife rehabilitators. Additionally, I am deeply involved in the progress of veterinary and wildlife regulations in Taiwan, including vet nurse regulation and amendments to the Wildlife Conservation Act. I also translate veterinary literature and books and develop innovative educational models for veterinary use.

Joanna Monika Kaczmarczyk – VN CertEcc RVN, Technik Weterynarii. Uzyskała tytuł technika weterynarii w Polsce w 2000 roku. Zanim przeprowadziła się do Wielkiej Brytanii, przez kilka lat pracowała w prywatnej praktyce małych zwierząt. [1] W Wielkiej Brytani pracowała jako asystentka ds. opieki nad zwierzętami w Vets Now, największej [2] placówce weterynaryjnej w nagłych przypadkach i poza godzinami pracy w Wielkiej Brytanii. Po [3] rejestracji w Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons nieprzerwanie [4] pracowała jako dyplomowana pielęgniarka weterynaryjna w Vets Now. W 2021 roku uzyskała Certyfikat Pielęgniarstwa Weterynaryjnego w Ratownictwie i Intensywnej Terapii, a następnie Certyfikat Ratownika RECOVER BLS & ALS.

Jest kierownikiem [5]Oddziału Technika Weterynarii Polskiego Stowarzyszenia Weterynaryjnej Opieki Ratunkowej i Intensywnej Terapii – PAVECC, którego zadaniem jest edukacja kliniczna techników i dalsze uznanie roli, jaką odgrywają technicy weterynarii w praktyce weterynaryjnej. Pracuje także jako Manager Techników Weterynarii w Veterio – pierwszym weterynaryjnym szpitalu referencyjnym w Polsce, pracując nad podnoszeniem kwalifikacji klinicznych techników weterynarii i wyznaczaniem wysokich standardów opieki weterynaryjnej.

Joanna Monika Kaczmarczyk – VN CertEcc RVN, Veterinary Technician. She graduated as a Veterinary Technician in Poland in 2000. She has worked for a few years in a private small animal practice before she moved to the UK. She has worked as an Animal Care Assistant at Vets Now, the biggest veterinary emergency and out of hours provider in the UK. After the registration at Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons she continuously worked as Registered Veterinary Nurse at Vets Now. In 2021 she gained the Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care and then RECOVER BLS & ALS Rescuer Certificate.

She is a Chief of Veterinary Technician Department of Polish Association of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care – PAVECC, working towards technicians clinical education and further recognition of the role the veterinary technicians play in veterinary practice. She also works as Veterinary Technicians Manager at Veterio – the first veterinary referral hospital in Poland, working towards elevating the clinical skills for veterinary technicians and setting the high standards of veterinary care.

She believes in the power of education. She lectured at the conferences and education events in Poland. Her main interest is emergency and critical care and patient centered care.

Marta ukończyła Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy we Wrocławiu w 2011 roku. Bezpośrednio po studiach przeniosła się do Wiednia, gdzie pracowała jako anestezjolog na Wiedeńskim Uniwersytecie Medycyny Weterynaryjnej. Pomiędzy 2013 a 2015 rokiem odbyła staż rotacyjny i anestezjologiczny na Uniwersytecie Pensylwanii.

W 2015 roku rozpoczęła rezydenturę z zakresu anestezjologii i terapii bólu na Wydziale Medycyny Weterynaryjnej Uniwersytetu w Zurychu, gdzie również uzyskała tytuł doktora (Dr. med. vet.). Po ukończeniu rezydentury w 2019 roku dołączyła do Uniwersytetu w Bernie jako wykładowczyni kliniczna w dziedzinie anestezjologii, gdzie pracowała do końca 2024 roku. Marta graduated from the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences in 2011 and began her career as an anesthesiologist in Vienna. She completed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 and a residency with a doctorate at the University of Zurich in 2015. After earning her European Diplomate title in 2021, she lectured at the University of Bern. Currently, she is a senior clinician at the University of Zurich and works with VAS International, focusing on teaching, private practice, and research. Her interests include critical care anesthesia and veterinary education.

Desde então, O Dr. João Soares completou mestrado em Medicina Veterinária com ênfase em anestesiologia pela Universidade Federal Fluminense em 2002, e Doutorado em Engenharia Biomédica com ênfase em Engenharia Pulmonar pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro em 2012. No mesmo ano, ele completou a sua residência em Anestesiologia Veterinária pela University of California, Davis, e conquistou o título de Diplomado pelo American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA). Dr. João Soares tem aproximadamente 25 anos de experiência em Anestesiologia Veterinária e é autor de 45 artigos científicos e 5 capítulos de livros na área da Anestesiologia Veterinária e Ventilação Mecânica. Atualmente, o Dr. João Soares é o chefe do serviço de anestesiologia veterinária do Hospital Escola de Medicina Veterinária da University of California, Davis, e membro ativo do Colégio Brasileiro de Anestesiologia Veterinária. Dr. João Henrique Neves Soares graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidade Federal Fluminense in 1999. Since then, Dr. João Soares has completed a master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine with an emphasis in anesthesiology at the same university in 2002, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in Pulmonary Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 2012. That same year, he completed a residency in Veterinary Anesthesiology at the University of California, Davis, and earned board certification from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA).

Dr. João Soares has approximately 25 years of experience in Veterinary Anesthesiology and is the author of 45 scientific articles and 5 book chapters in the fields of veterinary anesthesiology and mechanical ventilation. He is currently the head of the veterinary anesthesiology service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of California, Davis, and an active member of the Brazilian College of Veterinary Anesthesiology.

His main research interests are peri-anesthetic management of lung function and balanced anesthesia.

Fernanda completou o Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária na Universidade Lusófona (Lisboa, Portugal) em 2013. Pouco depois, mudou-se para o Norte da Inglaterra, onde trabalhou em uma clínica de primeira opinião por dois anos e meio. Com o objetivo de aprimorar seus conhecimentos e técnicas veterinárias e posteriormente realizar o sonho da especialização, Fernanda completou o internato rotacional no Hospital de Referência do Willows e o Internato em ECC na Universidade de Dublin. Em 2018, Fernanda iniciou os três anos de residência (especialização) em Emergência e Cuidados Intensivos (ECC) no Royal Veterinary College. Ao concluir, em 2021, ela juntou-se à equipa de ECC do Willows’ e tornou-se especialista pelo American College of Veterinary em Emergência e Cuidados Intensivos em Outubro de 2022.

Fernanda gosta de orientar os internos rotacionais e de dar suporte à equipa de emergência, apreciando todos os aspectos de Emergências e Cuidados Intensivos. No seu tempo livre, Fernanda adora viajar, experimentar novos restaurantes, ler e aproveitar o tempo com amigos, família e os seus dois gatos. Mais recentemente, ela tornou-se uma entusiasta de plantas! Ambos os gatos foram resgatados do hospital: Hunter, com um temperamento muito amigável, é parte da lista de doadores de sangue do hospital; LJ (Lady Justice) é uma jovem gatinha que nasceu cega e agora vive feliz na sua nova casa.

Fernanda graduated from the University Lusófona (Lisbon, Portugal) in 2013. She then moved to the North of England, where she worked for two and a half years in a busy first-opinion practice. Seeking to improve her clinical skills and pursue specialization, Fernanda completed a rotating internship at Willows Referrals, followed by an ICU internship at University College Dublin.

In 2018, Fernanda began her three-year Residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the Royal Veterinary College. She joined Willows’ Referral team in 2021 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in October 2022.

Since becoming a Diplomate, Fernanda has enjoyed mentoring rotating interns in the hospital and supporting the primary out-of-hours team. She particularly enjoys all practical aspects of Emergency and Critical Care.

Outside of work, Fernanda loves to travel, try new restaurants, read, and spend time with her friends, family, and two cats. She has also recently become a plant enthusiast! Both of her cats were rescued from the hospital: Hunter, a lovely boy who is part of the hospital blood donor list, and LJ (Lady Justice), a young blind cat now thriving in her forever home.

Formou-se em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade de Évora em 2015. Trabalhou em diversas clinícas e hospitais em Portugal e no Reino Unido, desde uma clinica exclusivamente dedicada a gatos a hospitais de 24 houras com cuidados intensivos. Co-organizou diversos congressos científicos, prestou apoio a colegas no seu desenvolvimento profissional e já conta com publicações de artigos e posters científicos.

Recentemente completou um Internato Rotativo e um em Emergências e Cuidados Intensivos no Dick White Referrals, no Reino Unido. Trabalha com todos os aspectos das emergências e cuidados intensivos com particular interesse em procedimentos avançados, emergências cardíacas e reanimação cardiopulmonar.

Fora do trabalho é conhecida por Mia e adora estar com a família e amigos, especialmente quando acompanhada com (muita) comida, música e boa disposição. Pratica diversos desportos, gosta de pintar e aprender instrumentos novos. Recentemente voltou a re- aprender algumas habilidades de ginástica. No futuro pretende especializar-se, continuar a trabalhar na motivação de pessoas no desenvolvimento das suas capacidades e adoptar um ou uns patudo(s).

Marta Escobar graduated from the University of Évora (Portugal) in 2015. She worked in a variety of practices from a cat only clinic to sole charge roles in out-of-hours services and in high-case load 24-hour hospitals, in Portugal and the United Kingdom. Despite an early career she has co-organized scientific congresses, supported colleagues in developing their knowledge and skills, published papers and posters, all with a strong background in leadership, organization and mentoring. More recently, she completed a rotating and an ECC internship at Dick White Referrals, UK. She enjoys all aspects of emergency and critical care with an interest in advanced procedures, cardiac emergencies and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Outside work, she is known as Mia and loves to spend time with family and friends, especially around (a lot of) food, music and laughter. She enjoys sport activities, painting, learning new instruments and more recently she has been re-sparking some (very basic) gymnastics skills.

In the future the aim is to specialize, continue to motivate people in building up tools for their development and hopefully be able to provide a forever home for some furry friends.

Clara este tehnician la Spitalul Veterinar de Urgență PetStuff din București, România. Deși este absolventă a Facultății de Geografie și Geografia Turismului, pasiunea pentru animale a determinat-o să se dedice complet îngrijirii acestora. Recent, Clara a descoperit o pasiune profundă pentru medicina de urgență și terapia intensivă a animalelor mici, iar acest interes o motivează să urmeze o specializare în acest domeniu. Cu o dedicare deosebită, ea își dorește să contribuie la salvarea vieților animalelor aflate în situații critice.

Clara is a technician at the PetStuff Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Bucharest, Romania. Although she graduated from the Faculty of Geography and Tourism Geography, her passion for animals led her to fully dedicate herself to their care.

Recently, Clara discovered a deep passion for emergency and intensive care medicine for small animals, and this interest is motivating her to pursue further specialization in the field. With exceptional dedication, she aspires to contribute to saving the lives of animals in critical condition.

Dr. Cosmin Mureșan este lector universitar în cadrul Disciplinei de Chirurgie, Anestezie și Terapie Intensivă, Facultatea de Medicină Veterinară, USAMV Cluj-Napoca. Din 2004 până în 2016 a lucrat ca medic veterinar la Spitalul de Urgență al aceleiași facultăți. A efectuat diverse stagii de externship pe medicină de urgență și terapie intensivă la mai multe universități de prestigiu, printre care Universitatea de Medicină Veterinară din Viena – Austria, Universitatea din Bari „Aldo Morro” – Italia, Royal Veterinary College – Marea Britanie, Școala Națională Veterinară din Lyon – Franța, Facultatea de Medicină Veterinară Koret – Israel, Vet Suisse Bern – Elveția, Vet Suisse Zurich – Elveția.

El a obținut titlul de doctor în științe medicale veterinare după ce și-a finalizat doctoratul cu teza intitulată „Hemodinamica în sincopa cardiacă resuscitată sub neuroprotecție prin hipotermie terapeutică și memantină la porcine”. A ținut prelegeri la diferite conferințe și workshop-uri în țară și străinătate și are o activitate științifică consecventă. Este membru fondator și președinte actual al Societății Române de Urgență și Terapie Intensivă Veterinară (RoVECCS).

Dr. Cosmin Mureșan is a lecturer in the Department of Surgery, Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, USAMV Cluj-Napoca. From 2004 to 2016, he served as a veterinarian in the Emergency Department of the same faculty. He has completed various internships at several prestigious universities, including the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna – Austria, University of Bari “Aldo Morro” – Italy, Royal Veterinary College – UK, National Veterinary School of Lyon – France, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Koret – Israel, Vet Suisse Bern – Switzerland, Vet Suisse Zurich – Switzerland, Ross University – St. Kitts and Nevis, Hohenheim Small Animal Clinic – Germany.

He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medical Sciences degree after completing his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Hemodynamics in resuscitated cardiac arrest with neuroprotection through therapeutic hypothermia and memantine in swine”. He has lectured at conferences and workshops in the country and abroad and has a substantial scientific activity. He is a founding member and current president of the Romanian Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (RoVECCS).

Sinziana a absolvit FMVB (București) în 2011 și a co-fondat prima bancă de sânge pentru animale din România în același an. După ce a lucrat în cabinete de urgență pentru animale de talie mică în România și Regatul Unit, a efectuat un internship rotativ la Royal Veterinary College (RVC) din Londra și un internship de specialitate în Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) la Universitatea din Edinburgh. Ulterior, Sinziana a finalizat rezidențiatul ECC la RVC și a obținut statutul de diplomat american și european în 2022. În prezent, Sinziana este lector la Universitatea din Edinburgh și este, de asemenea, înscrisă într-un program de doctorat în Informatică Medicală la Institutul Usher, Regatul Unit.

Sinziana graduated from FMVB (Bucharest) in 2011 and co-founded Romania’s first animal blood bank in the same year. After working in small animal emergency practices in Romania and the United Kingdom, she completed a rotating internship at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in London and a specialized internship in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) at the University of Edinburgh. Subsequently, Sinziana completed her ECC residency at RVC and achieved her American and European diplomate status in 2022. Currently, Sinziana is a lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and is also enrolled in a PhD program in Medical Informatics at the Usher Institute, United Kingdom.

Alexandra a absolvit USAMV Cluj-Napoca, România, în 2017. După absolvire, a lucrat timp de 3 ani în practica generală în Regatul Unit, inițial ca medic veterinar de zi, dar în scurt timp a trecut la a lucra exclusiv pe timpul nopții ca medic veterinar de urgență. În 2021, a început un stagiu de internship în medicina de urgență și terapie intensivă (ECC) la Universitatea din Edinburgh, iar în 2022 a început un program de rezidențiat ECC la DWR Referrals în Regatul Unit. În prezent, se află în ultimul an de rezidențiat. Alexandra apreciază toate aspectele îngrijirii critice, dar are un interes deosebit pentru coagulopatii, hepatopatii și urgențe neurologice.

Alexandra graduated from USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 2017. After graduation, she worked for three years in general practice in the United Kingdom—initially as a daytime veterinarian, but soon transitioned to working exclusively night shifts as an emergency veterinarian.

In 2021, she began an internship in emergency and critical care (ECC) at the University of Edinburgh, and in 2022, she started an ECC residency program at DWR Referrals in the UK. She is currently in the final year of her residency.

Alexandra appreciates all aspects of critical care but has a particular interest in coagulopathies, liver diseases, and neurological emergencies.

Dr. Buriko earned her veterinary degree from Michigan State University and completed a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. She has since worked in both academic institutions and private practice, with a strong focus on teaching and residency training.

Her clinical and research interests include hemostasis, coagulopathies, and viscoelastic testing of hemostasis.

С 2017 года проводит мастер-классы по анестезии, управлению болью и реанимации, является лектором на профильных конгрессах.

An experienced educator, Dr. Solovyeva has been conducting workshops on anesthesia, pain management, and resuscitation across Russia since 2017. Her dedication to advancing veterinary education is evident in her passionate advocacy for teaching resuscitation techniques for all species.

David Alzate es colombiano, nacido en Medellín, sus padres Julia y Gildardo, médicos veterinarios ambos le inculcaron desde pequeño el amor por los animales, el respeto por la medicina veterinaria y la pasión por el aprendizaje. Se graduó como médico veterinario en la Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia en 2007, realizó una residencia en cuidados intensivos en la clínica veterinaria VET´S en Santiago de chile en 2009 y obtuvo su magister en medicina de pequeñas especies animales de la Universidad CES con énfasis en emergencias y cuidados intensivos en el año 2014. Es instructor certificado por la iniciativa RECOVER en soporte vital básico y avanzado. Director médico de “Caninos y Felinos hospital veterinario” en la ciudad de Medellín. Docente de posgrado en diferentes universidades de Colombia en el área de emergencias y cuidados intensivos. Esposo de Yuliet y orgulloso padre de Juan José y Maximiliano.  Sus áreas de interés son el monitoreo hemodinámico, la vigilancia epidemiológica de resistencias antimicrobianas y la ventilación mecánica. David Alzate is Colombian, born in Medellín, his parents Julia and Gildardo, veterinarians, both instilled in him from a young age the love for animals, respect for veterinary medicine and the passion for learning. He graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Antioquia, Colombia in 2007, completed a residency in intensive care at the VET ́S veterinary clinic in Santiago de Chile in 2009 and obtained his master’s degree in medicine of small animal species from the CES university with an emphasis on emergencies and intensive care in 2014. He is a certified instructor by the RECOVER initiative in basic and advanced life support. Medical Director of Caninos y Felinos veterinary hospital in the city of Medellín. Postgraduate professor at different universities in Colombia in the area of emergencies and intensive care. Husband of Yuliet and proud father of Juan José and Maximiliano. His areas of interest are hemodynamic monitoring, epidemiological surveillance of antimicrobial resistance, and mechanical ventilation. He is currently president of the Latin American Society of Emergency and Intensive Care Veterinary Medicine LAVECCS.

Dr. Leo Londoño nació y creció en Colombia, y su educación superior la realizó en Estados Unidos, donde primero obtuvo su título como Biólogo en la Universidad Internacional de la Florida (Miami) en el 2006, seguido por su título de médico veterinario (DVM) en la Universidad de la Florida (Gainesville) en el 2011. El Dr. Londoño completó un internado de medicina y cirugía de pequeños animales en el Hollywood Animal Hospital en el 2012, seguido por una residencia en emergencias y cuidados intensivos en la Universidad de la Florida y luego recibió su título de diplomado del colegio americano de emergencias y cuidados intensivos (DACVECC) en el 2016. Durante su residencia, encontró su pasión por la fisiopatología renal, las terapias de reemplazo renal y purificación extracorpórea, completando su certificado de hemodiálisis de la Universidad de California Davis en el 2018. El es miembro fundador del colegio americano de nefrología y urología (ACVNU), establecido recientemente en el 2022.

El Dr. Londoño es un disertante de talla internacional, y sus áreas de interés incluye el reconocimiento y manejo de la lesión renal aguda, las terapias de purificación extracorpórea y hemodiálisis, y disfunción endotelial y del glycocalyx en el paciente crítico.

Dr. Leo Londoño was born and raised in Colombia and moved to the United States where he obtained his degree in Biology in 2006. He then received his veterinary degree from University of Florida in 2011. After completing a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Hollywood Animal Hospital (2012), he pursued a residency in emergency and critical care at University of Florida (2015) and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC) in 2016. During his residency he discovered his passion for nephrology, hemodialysis and other forms of blood purification. He then completed the hemodialysis academy from UC Davis and received the certification in veterinary extracorporeal blood purification. He is a founding member of the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology (ACVNU), established in 2022.

His clinical interests include recognition and management of acute kidney injury, extracorporeal blood purification techniques, endothelial and glycocalyx dysfunction in critical illness. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and lecturing internationally, fishing and spending time with his family.

Vicente obtuvo su título de Licenciado en Veterinaria por la Universidad UCH-CEU de Valencia en 2006. Realizó un internado rotatorio en ARS Veterinaria en Barcelona en 2009. Tras unos años trabajando en clínicas de urgencias en España y Reino Unido hizo un internado de urgencias y cuidados intensivos en Auburn University en Estados Unidos en 2013. En 2017 completó una residencia de 3 años en urgencias y cuidados intensivos en el Royal Veterinary College de Londres. En 2017 obtuvo el título de diplomado por el colegio americano de urgencias y cuidados intensivos y el 2018 el diploma por el colegio europeo de la misma especialidad. Actualmente trabaja como responsable de urgencias y cuidados intensivos en el Hospital Veterinario de la Universidad Católica de Valencia.

Vicente graduated in veterinary medicine from the Universidad UCH-CEU of Valencia in 2006. In 2009 he did a rotating internship at ARS Veterinaria-UAB in Barcelona. After working a few years in emergency clinics in Spain and the UK, in 2013 he did an emergency and critical care internship at Auburn University, USA. Neus se graduó en la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) en 2009, después de eso, completó un internado rotatorio en la misma universidad y seguidamente trabajó como veterinaria de urgencias durante un año cerca de Barcelona.

Neus se mudó al Reino Unido en 2013 y trabajó como veterinaria generalista en Liverpool durante dos años antes de empezar su internado de especialidad en Urgencias y Cuidados Intensivos en Vets Now 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital, en Glasgow (Escocia). En enero de 2017, Neus empezó su residencia de esta especialidad en el mismo hospital, la cual completó en enero del 2020. En septiembre de 2020, Neus aprobó el examen de diplomatura convirtiéndose en Diplomada Europea del colegio veterinario de Urgencias y Cuidados Intensivos (DECVECC) y continúa trabajando en Glasgow como co-directora del departamento de Urgencias y Cuidados Intensivos.

Neus graduated from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona in 2009, and then completed a rotating internship at the same University before working in a referral hospital as an out of hours veterinary surgeon for a year in Barcelona.

On moving to the UK in 2013, Neus worked in a first opinion practice in Liverpool for two years before beginning an Emergency and Critical Care specialist internship at the Vets Now 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Glasgow. In January 2017, Neus began her residency in the same hospital; which she completed in January 2020. Neus sat and passed her board exams becoming a European Diplomate in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in September 2020 and continues to work in Glasgow as co-lead of the ECC department.

Elena se graduó en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en 2021. Tras finalizar sus estudios, se mudó a Dublín para completar un internado de especialidad en Anestesia y Analgesia en el Hospital Veterinario de la UCD. En 2023, se trasladó al Reino Unido, donde completó un internado rotatorio en un centro de referencia antes de comenzar su residencia en Anestesia y Analgesia en el Royal Veterinary College en julio de 2024. A Elena le apasionan todos los aspectos de la anestesia, con un interés particular en la ventilación mecánica y la anestesia de pacientes críticos.

Elena graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2021. After graduation, she moved to Dublin to complete a one-year internship in Anesthesia at UCD Veterinary Hospital. In 2023, she relocated to the UK, where she completed a rotating internship at a referral centre before beginning her Residency in Anesthesia and Analgesia at the Royal Veterinary College in July 2024.
