HOW CERTIFICATION WORKS

The process is simple. It combines online education with in-person simulations to achieve Rescuer Certification. Once certified, if you’d like to

share your knowledge, we’d love to have you join us as an instructor through our Instructor Certification. Recertification is required every two years

to ensure your skills are up to date.

“A whole team effort

One of the biggest changes I have seen is that RECOVER training has allowed us to utilize all staff members. Assistants are taught to initiate CPR and participate in the code.”

–Valerie Garuccio CVT, VTS (ECC)Compassion-First Pet Hospitals

“The current best evidence

RECOVER helped identify knowledge gaps and future research needs, influencing both clinical researchers as well as laboratory animal researchers. Getting certified means researchers involved in resuscitation research can ensure their study protocols follow the current best evidence, which is typically required for IACUC approval.”

FAQs

How does certification work?

RECOVER offers certification for veterinary professionals in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) through a 2-step process involving online and in-person training.  The online knowledge courses are on-demand and provide up to 8.5hrs of RACE approved CE for both credentialed veterinary technicians/nurses and veterinarians.  In-person practical skills labs are separately conducted by instructors across the globe and allow participants to practice on simulators and test their CPR skills.

Does RECOVER offer a discount for group enrollment?

Yes, RECOVER offers a year-round 30% discount for groups of 5 or more who register together.  The discounted course fees for our BLS/ALS package are as follows:  veterinarians  – $105.00; veterinary technicians/nurses, veterinary students/interns/residents, veterinary technician/nurse students, other support staff — $52.50.  Please note there are other course offerings besides the main BLS/ALS combo package of which a 30% group discount still applies.

Are the courses RACE approved?

Yes, all of our online courses are RACE approved for all credentialed veterinary professionals with a total of 8.5 hours of CE offered through the main BLS/ALS combo courses. Most of the RECOVER Certified Instructors within our network also have RACE approval status for the in-person practical skills workshops.

Can I get a refund on the courses?

Once a course has been purchased, we allow refunds up to the point of the participant actually engaging in the course content.  This means you can obtain a course refund as long as you have not started the online course yet.

What is included with RECOVER Certification?

All RECOVER Certified Professionals, whether just knowledge certified (online course only) or rescuer certified (both online and in-person courses), have access to a variety of resources for the entire two-year certification period.  You will have access to the online courses which can be utilized as reference at any time and are eligible to join the RECOVER Certified Professionals FaceBook group.
